Kaleb Braun-Schulz + The Nightingale Band – “Unbeatable”

/

A somber, affecting track about reconnecting with past friends and lovers, “Unbeatable” comes via Minnesota-based artist Kaleb Braun-Schulz and his The Nightingale Band. Introspective vocals pair with soft acoustics for a sound fondly reminiscent of The Clientele, initially. “I’ve given up the search; I’ve given up on lots of things,” vocal admissions intertwine enjoyably with the instrumentation, guiding into a triumphant bust of guitar distortion and brass-y resonance thereafter. “Unbeatable” builds with enjoyably emotive momentum and dynamic tonal engrossment.

“It is an honest exploration of feelings and emotions, putting the pieces back together that had since fallen apart,” Braun-Schulz explains. “The song features both electronic and acoustic percussion, as well as some blistering brass parts.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
