Balancing dreamy introspection and shoegaze-friendly textured momentum, “please like me” is a newly released track from soapberry. The project is fronted by Lisa, formerly the vocalist of the band Dakota. soapberry’s embrace of melancholy atmospherics captivates here, particularly as multiple vocal layers converge gorgeously past the one-minute turn and beautifully murky guitars emanate alongside. Panting percussion and repeated vocals lead into a lovely, hypnotic finale, capping off the excellent “please like me” in satiating form.
