Nantua – “Sing”

/

The debut single from Bristol, UK-based duo Nantua, “Sing” enamors with a flourishing folk radiance. The project of vocalist Lynne Thomas and guitarist/drummer Lewis Bradshaw presents with a caressing introspection within, melding serene finger-picked acoustics and twangy lap steels amidst lyrics that celebrate one finding their voice amidst uncertainty. Also taking inspiration from “the stillness and wonder of nature,” “Sing” delights in its ethereal yet cathartic sense — enveloping across both subdued folk-set moments, like in the final minute’s approach to “sing for eternity,” to the more expansive twanginess. “Sing” is a beautiful debut.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
