Forest Ray – “Send My Love”

/

The third single from Seattle-based Forest Ray‘s upcoming album, “Send My Love” enamors with a heartfelt country-tinged rock appeal. A twangy sound radiates from steel guitar and fiddle, while lush synths provide a textured backing. Shades of Neil Young arise in the second half especially, where soaring guitars present an ardent and unforgettable appeal. “Though I try just to find all the things that went wrong,” a harmonious vocal push stirs thereafter, moving into a satiating finale that artfully concludes the hooky, heart-on-sleeve production.

The track also features a variety of collaborating acts from the West Coast and Midwest — including Federale, The Shivas, and TV Star. Forest Ray describes the release as “an homage to folks who have crossed paths with us, and friends who lent a helping hand.” They continue: “Though separated by miles and timezones, we still keep them in our thoughts and the song convey’s that sentiment, which for a touring musician, that gratitude is so rarely able to be expressed in person.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
