Culver Drive – “South America”

/

Jangly guitars and a vocal plea to “meet me at the border” enthrall across “South America,” a gripping new single from Culver Drive. Hazy vocal awakenings commence the track with intrigue as glistening guitar twangs drive into the aforementioned plea, stirring in simultaneous yearning for loving embrace and a sense of escape — both geographically and in the proximity of another’s arms. It marks a heartfelt, replay-inducing success from the Canadian project.

“In a sense it’s an analogy to escapism,” Culver Drive says of the track. “Wanting essentially to break out of the confines of day to day life and to escape to somewhere else. “South America” in this instance isn’t exactly literal but instead functions as a way to break out.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
