Kaigara – “Mango Tree”

//

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and violinist Kaigara crafts a riveting, haunting chamber-folk sound on new track “Mango Tree.” Representing Kaigara’s debut release, “Mango Tree” was crafted alongside Kyle Benor (Odie Leigh, Jack Van Cleaf) and Berto Sewald (Katy Kirby, Zach Bryan).

The track’s production rouses in its artful mixture of understated acoustic-set intrigue and more grandiose string arrangements, the latter of which enthrall across the production’s final minute. The initial progression, featuring lovely fingerstyle guitars and a weeping string-laden subtlety, complements a lyrical emphasis on personal survival through tumult — commenting specifically on “the tender yet frustrating process of saving a doomed love.”

A chilling yet debonair vocal tone pairs with the poetic lyrical drive for a gripping traversal into the gorgeous final minute, where the strings fully shine with heartrending emotion.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
