A lushly magnetic pop charm flows throughout “Window Seat,” a track from Chicago-based band Course. Their sound melds dream-pop and indie-rock prowess, reminding fondly of Alvvays, and on “Window Seat” embraces the dreamier realm. “Winter like a blanket, I like the cold today,” Jess Robbins’ vocals let out amidst caressing synths and steady rhythms, admitting “but the thoughts are stuck in my brain, always making me like a fool.” Vocal layers send chills thereafter as the “I wanna see if I could love somebody” aspirations, as more playful synth buzzing eases in seamlessly.
