The memorable debut single from Cincinnati-based rockers PHANTA, “Stuck” conjures a ferociously enthralling ’90s alternative nostalgia in its heady guitar tones and ardent vocal delivery. Its anthemic sound is propelled by the talents of frontwoman Cassidy Witt, who wrote the track during the height of the pandemic.
“But I’m stuck running from goodbye,” Witt’s vocals let out during an especially magnetic refrain, the vocals ranging from grungy suaveness to infectious ardor throughout as the sturdy doses of guitar distortion persist underneath. Also featuring David Goodwin on bass and Nick Holland on drums, “Stuck” resonates in its melodic rock energy and thematic emphasis on identity and belonging.
