Alon Mylo – “wildin’ !”

A darkly contagious pop intrigue consumes on “wildin’ !” — a standout new track from Los Angeles-based artist Alon Mylo. Melodic alt-pop, punk, and trap inspirations meld with an intriguing lyrical narrative, centering around the character of The Outer, described as “a werewolf-like figure caught in the tension between desire and control.” Explorations into sex addiction, demons, and feeling out of place — in this case, being a werewolf on Earth — infuse seamlessly within a memorably replay-inducing aesthetical savvy.

Whispered vocals and a bass-y seductiveness takes hold right after, with foreboding “don’t really stand a chance” references to demons arising prior to an effervescent glistening — then exuding a confident ethos in the “shining all over me” entrancement. The “demons all around me” sequence thereafter excels in call-and-response vocal backings, as werewolf-like punches arise into further starry-eyed “moonlight” lushness. The track marks a thorough success from Alon Mylo, who also utilizes his synesthesia in creating music; he sees “wildin’ !” as possessing “deep reds and flashing whites.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
