Last Minute Changes – “Shadows”

/

A compelling rock mystique enthralls on “Shadows,” a new track from Last Minute Changes that channels Fleetwood Mac in its moody, emotive atmospheric pull. The Delco/West Chester, PA-based band describe the single as “about knowing someone who’s got a nasty secret that follows them wherever they go almost like they are living two different lives.”

Delectably dark guitar jangles commence “Shadows” with enjoyable intrigue, as a chilling vocal presence lyrically refers to uncovering treasures and secrets — cautioning “they’ll get you in the end.” This vibe-y momentum culminates in a soaring ardency past the one-minute turn, asking “why don’t you wanna me show your shadow?” with layered vocal momentum — reminding fondly of TOPS in their soulful rock, throwback reverberations. A debonair guitar solo follows into another series of consuming verses, and then into a spine-tingling, vocal wordlessness that’s bolstered by more raucous guitar distortion. A dynamic, emotive success, “Shadows” has us firmly anticipating what’s next from Last Minute Changes.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
