A memorable sound, steeped in dreamy rock jangles and synth-laden pop lushness, emanates throughout “On Vulnerability” — the latest track from Norwegian artist Louise Weseth. The second single from the artist and self-producer’s upcoming EP, “On Vulnerability” tackles courage and personal evolution in its lyrical precision, delivered by Weseth’s dynamic vocals, which ascend seamlessly from lush quivering into an anthemic beckoning within the “follow me down” sequence.
The accompanying instrumentation swells from solemn guitars with a ghostly backing whirring, into an especially gripping turn in the final minute, where illuminated synths appear before a final “follow me down” serene yearning. “On Vulnerability” is an enthralling success that has us thoroughly anticipating Weseth’s forthcoming EP.
“‘On Vulnerability’ came through two Oslo winters ago, as a longing and a call to break though numbness and repetition,” Weseth says. “It is a song about tenderness, courage and transformation. When I wrote it I felt like I spoke to both myself and people in my life. I produced it very quickly and would listen to it on repeat feeling like it breathed new power into me during an otherwise harsh and dull time in my life.”
