Affecting, heartfelt feelings of emotive reassurance flow on “On My Mind,” a track from Numi dedicated to her loved ones. The final song on Numi’s new EP of the same name, “On My Mind” charms with its dreamy vocal layers, twinkling piano, and twangy guitar ethereality. Reminiscent of Japanese Breakfast in its lush prowess, the track asks “do you feel okay because I care for you?” as glistening effervescence emerges. “When you lose your way, just know I’m here for you,” the vocal reassurances continue, melodic and comforting in their demeanor. A final segment, with harmonious vocal layers, makes for a resonating send-off.
Numi describes the track as “an ode to my loved ones.” She continues: “If I can’t be there in person, I want them to know that I am there for them in heart and spirit, and that I always wish them the best. I hope the message reaches those who truly need to hear these words spoken.”
