Phantom Wave – “Woozy”

/

Brooklyn-based band Phantom Wave craft an immersive rock swell on new single “Woozy,” venturing from subdued bass pulses and jangling guitars into a shoegaze-y textured ardency. An exhilarating vocal tone arrives in that heightened culmination, asking “now what you got?” followed by depictions of “drifting forever.”

The moody verses conjure an atmospheric post-punk nostalgia, akin to The Chameleons UK, while the outpouring of emotion that follows struts an invigorating, heart-on-sleeve enamoring. A whirring title-referencing outro concludes it all with sating impact. The standout track represents the first single via the band’s upcoming LP, Echoes Unknown.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
