Wattmore – “I Don’t Miss That Woman”

Brisbane, Australia-based brotherly duo Wattmore stir on their new single “I Don’t Miss That Woman,” playing as a sign of personal strength in moving on from a break-up — and into firmly independent “don’t miss that woman anymore” territory. Co-written with noted songwriter Allan Caswell and produced by Lindsay Waddington, “I Don’t Miss That Woman” consumes in its road-trip reflections of a relationship in the rearview mirror, set within an enjoyable rock, country, and folk fusing.

An on-the-road lyrical disposition and palpable striving to “leave my blues behind” stirs amidst twangy, frolicking guitar work — channeling a folk, country, and Americana enjoyment as the catchy “I don’t miss that woman anymore” vocal proclamation arrives. A free-flowing layering of guitars takes hold around the one-minute mark, melding electric twangs and trickling folk immersion into further verses that enamor, now with a harmonica-laden infusion. A final title-touting refrain consumes amidst sporadic doses of instrumentation, culminating in a satiating send-off with a flash of ominous guitars. “I Don’t Miss That Woman” is a stirring, from-the-heart success with relatable charm from Wattmore.
