Ball in the House – “Take A Chance”

“Take A Chance” is a compelling new track from Ball in the House, a Boston-based a cappella group whose blend of soul, pop, and R&B makes for a standout sound. Their dynamic vocal work spans from lushly harmonious backings to expressive leads and rhythmic vocal percussion. The release marks a continued momentum for the act, renowned for their live performances and extensive tour schedule; they average over 200 shows each year, and have opened for acts spanning from The Beach Boys and The Temptations to Blondie and The Jonas Brothers.

The beautiful vocal layering is evident right away, as wordless harmonies arrive seamlessly into a “never looking back” leading charisma. “Staring at your picture, I see you glow,” the smitten declaration continues, asking “how could I shine bright for her?” as the backing vocals continue to radiate with soulful entrancement.

A subsequent beckoning to “please don’t go” and instead “take a chance on me” consumes with its heart-on-sleeve pleading, unafraid of vulnerability and expressing all-out adoration. The more soaring inflection during the “feel my love” bridge envelops, especially, moving past the lusher yearning into an ardent allure. “Take A Chance” is a stirring success from Ball in the House, succeeding particularly in its magnetic a capella vocal work.
