Caroline Romano – “Sometimes Forever”

Nashville-based artist Caroline Romano crafts a memorable, bouncy pop charm on new single “Sometimes Forever,” pairing consuming heart-on-sleeve lyricism with an approachable, hooky production. Romano’s knack for narrative-forward songwriting stands out especially, tracing past relationship memories with a drive to push forward and beyond the heartbreak — “everything must go.”

Romano describes the track as “about the sort of heartbreak that has healed and turned the other person into a casually fleeting memory.” She continues: “It’s about time changing someone who once consumed your every thought into somebody you only think about when their name comes up in conversation.”

“Isn’t it strange, you blink your eyes and then a year goes by,” the vocals let out as clanging acoustics and lush piano adornments build alongside. “Everything must go, that’s just how it goes,” they continue with a soaring dreaminess, venturing into a pulsing electro-touched infectiousness thereafter — and immersing across a dynamic first minute, from climactic introspections to hooky satiation. Admissions of emotional recovery, and the time it takes, furthers the emotively gripping appeal. “I thought the wound might not ever close up,” the vocals ruminate, arriving then into a sating conclusion.
