Fallin’ Astronauts – “Higher”

Vienna-based duo Fallin’ Astronauts craft a soaring, lush pop power on new single “Higher,” coming ahead of their upcoming MONO EP, out in October. The track’s production excels in its catchy vocal harmonies, colorful guitar work, and carpe-diem thematic sentiments — lyrically comparing life to an “ocean of colors” that’s worth diving into.

Flourishing guitar twangs and bouncy bass build for a crisply melodic opening, swelling seamlessly into the introspective vocal presence. “Higher than the sun, where it has all begun,” they continue vibrantly, venturing with effervescent amiability into the replay-inducing central chorus. “So high, so high,” the vocals repeat with harmonious impact there. Brisk strums and enthusiastic wordless vocal backings showcase a glistening allure, especially memorable as the spacious bridge takes hold at the two-minute turn.

“No matter what you say, it feels like falling in reverse,” the vocals conclude during the magnetic bridge, where glimpses of strings and light synths accompany alongside, before moving back into the track’s lovely central chorus. “Higher” is a blissfully melodic showing from Fallin’ Astronauts, easily tempting replays with its serene soundscape and hooky vocal brightness. It has us firmly anticipating the MONO EP.
