Cult Caves – “Part of Me”

/

“Part of Me” is a catchy pop success from Cult Caves, the Salt Lake City-based project led by Tyson Henrie. Peppy rhythms, a bouncy bass push, and illuminated synths combine with a spirited vocal delivery, reassuring that “we got a paycheck coming soon.” The more soaring, caressing title-based refrain then emerges with heartfelt charm, aligning frolicking guitars and radiant synths with seamless entrancement. More expressive guitar work dazzles in the final section, while the synths persist with a starry-eyed glow; the track’s production is excellent and replay-inducing.

“This was an idea I started about 10 years ago, where the original demo vibe was darker, synthier, and even a little hip hop,” Tyson says. “My buddy talked me into leaning into a pop vibe – something more pop than I’ve ever pursued. Felt inspired by some 80’s songs like The Cure’s Close to Me, and even Boys of Summer.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
