Ryan Shephard – “Atom Bomb”

The opening track on Ryan Shephard‘s debut album, Head Games, “Atom Bomb” is a fervent rock success that pairs psychedelic introspection and raucously enjoyable tones with cohesive immersion. The Chicago-based artist excels with a momentum-filled sound here, navigating from initial guitar crunches into rousing twangs and a sating vocal emergence. “Screen on my phone it says unknown, when you call these days,” he lets out, conveying a sense of moving on that continues into the sating second half — into “another nuclear winter, knowing I won’t miss ya.”
