The Lovely Sparrows – “Multiple Lives”

A melodic, haunting track from The Lovely Sparrows‘ upcoming album, “Multiple Lives” is exemplary of the act’s quality songwriting. “I wish we could find those liminal spaces,” initial vocals yearn amidst a twangy guitar resonance and bustling rhythmic backing, finding a lovely middle ground between introspective lushness and a more infectious pace.

“I wish we had time for multiple lives, we would be husbands, we would be wives,” they continue, ruminating on the fleeting nature of time and the inability to rewind/fast-forward at will in life. Fluttering acoustic strums, jangling guitars, and a synth-laden playfulness then arrive into the “silver thread” thoughts on connection, continuing to delight in its array of dreamy rock intrigue and contemplative vocal enjoyment. “Multiple Lives” is a standout showing from The Lovely Sparrows.

They explain about the track: “It cranks the nostalgia to 10, and is perhaps a conversation between two friends or ex-lovers. The connection remains (the silver thread), similar to the reflection left in liminal spaces (abandoned zoos, arcades, shopping malls, etc.) They are instant emotional snapshots, places unstuck in time.”

“Multiple Lives” marks the second single from their upcoming album, I still picture you running.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
