Cult Canvas – “Life on the Outside”

A fervent, triumphant alt-pop success that rouses in its vocal ascent, “Life on the Outside” is a stellar single from Cult Canvas, the project of London-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Edward Goodger-White. The track comes via his third full release, the Life on the Outside EP.

One of the EP’s six excellent tracks, “Life on the Outside” swells from jangly guitar swiftness and initial vocal introspection into a gleefully stirring central hook. “How long have you waited on the outside?” the vocals let out there, exhilarating with replay-inducing appeal. Cult Canvas shows a knack for hooky charisma on this gem of a track, which he describes as attempting “to capture the indie sensibility of living on the ‘outside’ of mainstream taste.”
