Jimi C & The Waves – “LoveRise”

Venice Beach-based producer Jimi Cracovaner launches a new era for Jimi C & The Waves with the vibrant lead single “LoveRise.” Moving away from techno’s darker tropes, the track fuses live-tracked bass with intricate analog sound design to evoke a deep sense of optimism. The release plays like an illuminated bridge between deep house and indie pop, artfully capturing the euphoric energy of a California sunrise. This exuberant release also anchors a new hybrid live set that fuses DJ culture with live instrumentation.

A colorful synth-forward production emanates right away, as bright synth pulses and playful bass intertwine into a riveting, theatrical vocal feeling. The aesthetic reminds fondly of a cross between Erasure and Future Islands, balancing perky synth-pop initial repetition and soaring vocals. A sharp shift takes hold around the one-minute turn; percussive pitter-pattering drives into vibrant synth work and a “you were kissing my lips” smitten vocal clarity, inducing replays in its striking, cohesive maneuvering from this catchy sequence back to the initial “waiting for the sun to wake up” anticipation.

The production’s second half continues to stir in its grandiose yet approachable pop charisma, strutting a club-ready fervency as energetic synths prance into an introspective vocal immersion. “Loving was in her eyes, loving was on the rise,” the vocals let out gleefully, into an invigorating final drop with bouncy bass, glistening synths, and ardent vocal contagiousness. “LoveRise” is a danceable, illuminated electronic pop standout from Jimi C & The Waves.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
