Dame Haff – “Easy Lover”

A debonair track that traverses nocturnal synth buzzes, twinkling keys, and a nostalgic vocal croon, “Easy Lover” is a memorable output from Dame Haff. “I want an easy lover,” the vocals yearn during a hooky refrain, its twangy guitars and prancing piano guiding into a vibrant uptick as the vocals assume a wordless, harmonious quality — enjoyably reminiscent there of Magnetic Fields. The synth components remain understated throughout, though bolstering the arrangement in fantastic form nonetheless, especially as the vocals ascend in emotion around midpoint and again at the track’s conclusion. “Easy Lover” is a timeless-feeling, atmospheric pop standout from Dame Haff.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
