SACS & The Brussel Sprouts – “Solutions”

/

A blissful pop earworm, “Solutions” is a replay-inducing gem from Austrian act SACS & The Brussel Sprouts. Bright synths and surfy guitar twangs combine with a dynamic array of vocals, spanning from bubbly whimsy in the central hook to the initial debonair admissions: “I know communication is key, but sometimes I need you to shut the fuck up,” the vocals move with suave decisiveness, and into a “just fuck me real good, like you usually do” nonchalance.

The depictions of lust-over-dialogue are honest and wonderfully interwoven, the “I don’t need no solutions” hook delighting in its airy effervescence. The balmy, twangy guitar work dazzles throughout, and especially across the final minute, where the guitars assume an added expressiveness alongside the spacey synths and dreamy vocal refrain. The fourth release from SACS & The Brussel Sprouts is a lovely, memorable standout that induces repeat listens with its fun lyricism and dreamy psych-pop aesthetical glow.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
