Simen Mitlid – “It’s Okay”

Norwegian singer-songwriter Simen Mitlid crafts a comforting, twangy vein of subdued rock and folk intertwining within “It’s Okay,” the first single from his upcoming album. Hazy, plucky guitar resonance opens the track into warming strums and vocal harmonies. Mitlid’s serene vocal lead emerges thereafter, bolstered by gentle rhythms and heart-tugging strings. Lyrical references to daydream-like living further the tranquilly inviting sound, its “you think it’s okay” hook invoking early ’00s indie-pop heartrending. Mitlid’s music has caught our ears multiple times in the past, with tracks like “Grateful Dead,” and “It’s Okay” continues to show his talent for immersive songwriting.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
