Sunstroke Rain – “Another World”

/

Swedish artist Karin Turesson, the creative mind behind the project Sunstroke Rain, continues showcasing an inventive electronic pop sound with the single “Another World.” Reunited with UK producer Mera Bhai, Turesson delivers a shimmering blend of melodic dance and futuristic pop. The track evolved from a minimalist bass-and-chord foundation into a bold, thought-provoking anthem.

“Another World” wastes no time crafting a spacey, hooky electro-pop soundscape. Glimmering, lush synths cast a starry-eyed glow amidst danceable rhythmic propulsions. Vocals emerge in melodic, bite-sized snippets — the “living in…” and “another, another” deliveries enamoring alongside the effervescent synth work. The vocals gradually unveil into a less fragmented construction, particularly in the “can vanish over the night” introspections — showing shades of Pet Shop Boys there in the alternations between spoken-word suaveness and vibrantly harmonious singing.

The track’s final minute continues the palpable momentum, as spritzy synths and multiple vocal layers delight in their replay-inducing interplay. The steady rhythmic presence, with touches of house music, propels forward as the synths maintain an illuminated quality amidst the confident, hooky vocal work. A twinkling, catchy success with fantastic production, “Another World” is a gem of a track from Sunstroke Rain. We’re looking forward to further collaborations with Mera Bhai, with more singles set to release throughout 2026.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
