Knoxville, TN-based trio Blacklight Cinema conjure a moody art-rock sound on “What Are You Dreaming Of,” a track that excels in both soaring guitar invigoration and late-night jangly intrigue. “What are you dreaming of, little angel?” moodier, layered vocals ask as atmospheric guitars ring out amidst a post-punk bass envelopment. The chorus then kicks into gear, furthering the guitar-laden intensity and haunting backing vocal reflections in declaring: “and sleep little angels / let love’s light heal you while you dream.” Enamoring across both introspective and impassioned moments, “What Are You Dreaming Of” is an excellent track from Blacklight Cinema.
