“U.S. Nation” is a memorable new track from Ice Island, the solo project of Steven Hawley. Following up this year’s comeback single “Ordinary,” “U.S. Nation” again showcases Hawley’s knack for hooky, stylish productions.
A bass-driven intensity opens the track, quickly bolstered by twangy post-punk guitar tones and enjoyable vocals, which straddle debonair intrigue and punchy “make it last” beckoning. “I’m gonna break it down, this situation, take it on back to the U.S. nation,” the confident vocals push forth, adorned by stylish guitar aspects and whooshing synth playfulness. “U.S. Nation” is a replay-inducing standout.
