Rococo Disco – “Golden Cat”

Texas-based duo Rococo Disco conjure a soulful pop and rock synergy on new single “Golden Cat,” described as “about wishing that luck and life will just work out.” A charismatic, melodic vocal presence opens alongside a steady rhythm section and doses of twangy guitars, with shades of Unknown Mortal Orchestra in the vocal tone, electric guitar work, and bouncy bass. “Oh such a lonely soul, only found love to fill the space,” the vocals open, dazzling in expanses like “striking a cold match book” as dreamy synth tones and jangling guitars intertwine with replay-inducing appeal. “Golden Cat” is a super catchy, well-produced charmer from Rococo Disco.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
