Hannett Beach – “No Need”

Rock trio Hannett Beach fully compel on “No Need,” the ninth song on their new album, Capture the Sun. Melding chilled-out alternative prowess with moments of emotive heaviness, the project excels with a sense of palpable momentum throughout the track. Initial guitar glistening trickles alongside playful vocal harmonies, with the lead vocal soaring, singing “I’ll keep fighting ’til I can’t move.” An ensuing yearning to “run away” combines with heavier, jangling guitar distortion, reflecting personal “trials and tribulations” and the kneejerk desire to run and hide. Succeeding across both dreamy swirls of guitar and heavier, ardent pulsations, “No Need” is a stellar rock output from Hannett Beach.
