Kaleia – “MAKE IT MEAN SOMETHING”

An alt-pop standout with funk, synth-pop, surf, and hip-hop influences, “MAKE IT MEAN SOMETHING” is a stellar track from Edmonton-born and Vancouver-based artist Kaleia. The track was made in collaboration with New York-based producer Matthew Castello of Sunday Dinner Music Group..

Funky bass and spurts of guitar licks assemble with charismatic stylishness, traversing seamlessly into a dynamic vocal presence. “Am I even your lover? Was it ever love?” Kaleia’s vocals question, expanding to a multi-layered vocal prowess and prancing synth effervescence. A title-touting punctuation then ensues, complemented by the suavely impactful hip-hop rhythmic pulse, bass-y funk, and touches of guitar. “MAKE IT MEAN SOMETHING” is a replay-inducing success of a production, stirring in both its spaciously inviting central hook and introspective verses.
