Post-punk rhythms and art-rock ferocity intertwine on “Sling It Back,” a memorable new track from Color Of Noise. The artist describes the single as “about recovering from the past surrounded by those you trust.”
Color Of Noise elaborates that the track was recorded after he completed his debut album Noise Therapy, “which was about my life-changing experience of being in a relationship with a CON artist where I lost everything. This track is about moving on with confidence whilst surrounding yourself with the ones you can trust.”
Pulsing bass and sporadic claps lead into an angular guitar feeling, then bolstered by a fervent vocal delivery. “We throw it down and we recover nicely,” he lets out, moving from this confident sense of perseverance into further confidence, encouraging in the “we’ll be all right” and “I’ll be there” reassurances. An ensuing title-bearing hook invigorates, injecting fuzzy distortion amidst the “sling it back” enticements. Stirring across both bass-fronted verses and grimy, distortion-friendly hookiness, “Sling It Back” is a winner from Color Of Noise.
