Keshon Campbell – “DESIRES”

Keshon Campbell unveils a hazy, nocturnal strain of indie and alternative pop on new track “DESIRES,” pairing its melodic immediacy with a nostalgic atmosphere. Produced by Yellow Trash Can, the St. Louis-born, Portland-based artist and cinematographer explores the tension between intimacy, desire, and solitude.

A stylish, late-night atmosphere emanates from the initial instrumentation, conveying atmospheric synths and pulsing percussion. Campbell’s melodic delivery ensues. “Drown me in a fire, fulfill all of your desires,” he lets out, ascending into a blissful hook in the soaring “tonight” refrain that comes thereafter. His performance ascends dynamically from debonair introspection to more emotive allure, attaining a sort of cathartic self-power yet lonesome yearning in the “I’ll just keep it to myself, I don’t need nobody’s help” line. “DESIRES” is a moody, melodic standout of a track from Keshon Campbell.
