Los Angeles-based electronic duo Qwhyet expand their hazy, emotionally driven sound into a more dancefloor-focused experience on “WALK BY (Club Version),” reworking a track from their HUSH EP. Fuzzy rhythmic thumps, hypnotic synth arpeggios, and shifting tonal textures balance intimate nocturnal allure with an increasingly escalating club energy. The eclectic harmonic tones and momentum-filled electronics enthrall throughout.
Fuzzy, bass-y thumping melds with spacey synth illumination as the track opens with a wholly intriguing soundscape, parts dreamy and others infectious. Glimmers of wavering melodic-like effects linger subsequently, then met by a playful synth addition and more full-bodied rhythmic presence. The lead presence fully takes off by 01:20, emitting a soulful audibility even as the lyricism feels submerged beyond the smitten “I love the way you…” sentiments.
The two-minute turn then delights in its switch-up to a hypnotic synth arpeggiation, building amidst other memorable elements, particularly a now upfront performance feeling. The lead presence’s shifts between clarity and submerged, nocturnal wavering is delightfully climactic, culminating wonderfully just before the three-minute mark as the fuzzy rhythmic stomps re-enter the mix. Effervescent, club-friendly synth radiance and heavier rhythmic propulsions stir with ensuing charisma into the track’s satiating finale. “WALK BY (Club Version)” is a definitive electronic success from Qwhyet.
