The Burton D’Agostini Procedure – “Float Over Here”

Strutting a debonair rock drive, The Burton D’Agostini Procedure‘s track “Float Over Here” pairs vintage psychedelic sensibilities with modern alternative-rock production. Comprised of Jeff Burton and John D’Agostini, the American duo brings decades of musical experience to a sound informed by ’60s and ’70s influences, with an enhanced headphone mix lending added dimension to the track’s layered instrumentation.

An active rhythmic presence emanates from the get-go, paired with sporadic acoustic pulses and an emerging twangy suaveness. These compelling layers of guitars move into a similarly debonair lead presence, beckoning “why don’t you walk over here?” amidst smitten sentiments. “You make a grown man howl, and now I’m howling for you,” they continue amidst a riveting folk-rock soundscape, complete with cinema-forward atmospheric vibes. “You walk around the block, I know you’ve seen the sights,” the delivery vows to keep “fighting for you,” developing with steady intrigue across its first half.

A mixture of prancing, chilled-out keys, percussive pit-patter, and atmospheric guitars continues to develop wonderfully thereafter, as the performance recounts walking “a hundred miles, under desert skies, just to look in your ears.” They follow up by asking “why don’t you look over here?” in intertwining yearning and adoration, traversing into a satiating finale as the “howling for you” emotion lingers and the instrumentation fades out. “Float Over Here” is a memorably hypnotic rock success from The Burton D’Agostini Procedure.
