Tim Ayre – “I Want It”

/

Exhibiting a swooning vein of infectious pop, “I Want It” is the latest from Tim Ayre, the Australian musician who impressed with the track “LAXX” last year. “I Want It” doesn’t quite echo that track’s more psych-fixated aesthetic, instead divulging in a polished vein of pop. Piano and synths lead a very vibrant sound, with a breezy “haaa,” vocal effect in the chorus playing melodically. A bouncy bridge at 01:07 fully succeeds as well, showcasing the track’s structural variety early. “I Want It” maintains a melodic, accessible appeal while retaining an ample sense of creativity.

“I Want It” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
