Darkroom Data – “Hydrogen”

/

Showing an ’80-tinged vein of nocturnal synth-driven pop in the vein of Chromatics, Darkroom Data impress with new track “Hydrogen.” The duo of Irish vocalist Gillian Nova and Brazilian composer Márcio Paz show a memorable soundscape throughout the track, their second single. Nova’s vocals shine in alternating between suaveness and escalating passion, with the repeating “I’m the thing you need,” being especially affecting in the mid-point bridge. Illuminated synths show a synthwave-y, ’80s-adoring approach, that lovably forms a memorable aesthetic and melody. “Hydrogen” is a quality effort with great late-night yearning vibes.

“Hydrogen” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2020’ Spotify playlist.
