Washed Out – “It All Feels Right”

It was reported several weeks ago Washed Out will release a new album, Paracosm,  on August 13th via Sub Pop records, with an intent to “explore the album’s namesake phenomenon, where people create detailed imaginary worlds.” The solo project of Ernest Greene unveiled even more information today, including the cover art for Paracosm, as well as its track listing; both can be found below this post. The gold nugget of the reveal today is a full stream of “It All Feels Right”, a track off Paracosm. Initial reports had the album touting more instrumental expansion than ever for Greene, who apparently used sounds from over 50 instruments and samples on Paracosm. “It All Feels Right” – with its acoustic flutters, sitar-y psychedelia, and wispy string-synths – shows that report as no bluff. It sounds like it could have been a cut on Caribou’s Andorra, and you can’t help but feel nostalgia for The Flaming Lips’ Yoshimi during the psychedelic interlude at the three-minute mark. So far, so good with Paracosm.
