Swedish rockers Come on Like Gangbusters were featured last year with the infectious track “Realization“, which compared to the likes of Ocean Colour Scene and The Strokes with its baggy indie-rock charm. Their Swedish genetic tendency for wonderfully effervescent hooks continues with their outstanding new track “Oh Sister, Oh Brother.” This one has the group chugging along with their modern indie-rock sensibilities, although with a melodic vocal twist that resembles Paul McCartney in the folksy beginnings. And like many great McCartney tracks, the emergence of an electric guitar immediately precedes a great hook. In the case of “Oh Sister, Oh Brother”, it’s a jangly chorus that allows Come on Like Gangbusters to juggle ’60s guitar-pop with ’00s indie-buzz allure. Come on Like Gangbusters seem to be getting better with each track.
