Video: Ximena Borges – “Crunchy Drummer Boy”

Ximena Borges – Crunchy Drummer Boy from Cirque Parallel on Vimeo.

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, there’s no excuse not to blast Christmas music to your heart’s content. For your neighbors’ sake, at least keep it to quality audible holiday cheer, though — like the type of music New York/Venezuelan experimental artist Ximena Borges puts out. An extremely eclectic songwriter, Borges combines a variety of her stylistic interests on the seasonal “Crunchy Drummer Boy”, a highlight off her Christmas album Joyful Noise. “Crunchy Drummer Boy” is a trickling and energetic interpretation of the Christmas classic, with a video that highlights Gorges’ red lips and picture-in-picture dance movements. It’s a stellar song that will surely get you in the holiday spirit. The tongue-clicking single can be streamed here.

Purchase Joyful Noise for $7 on Bandcamp now.
