Emeron & Fox – “Windup”

emeron & fox

“Windup” is a fun new track from Brooklyn electro-pop project Emeron & Fox. Its buzzing synth arpeggios, touch of gentle keys, and Italo-disco tinge distinguishes the first minute as a dose of ceaseless energy — though there’s also a serene gentleness to the angelic vocal incorporation. After the intro, a droplet synth lead builds from minimalist beginnings to a percussive-minded stomp, where cut-up vocal samples and a funk-laden rhythm section help build toward the track’s hook-y meat, which will probably inspire a bunch of remixes. “Windup” is the first track from Emeron & Fox after an eight-month hiatus, and it certainly sounds like they’ve come out of the break fresh and inspired.

Also, if you enjoy “Windup”, check out the equally excellent “Mustaches (Don’t Worry)” below. Both of these efforts can serve as shots of energy for the start of the weekend.
