Another memorable track from Spanish band Sehore, “IA” serves as the first single from the project’s forthcoming third album, using its 5/4 framework to reinforce the track’s deliberately fragmented rhythmic character. Recorded in 2026 at Paco Loco Studio and mastered by Mario G. Alberni at Kadifornia, the track explores an increasingly relevant question about artificial intelligence and the erosion of human qualities, depicting figures who possess fewer human traits than Turing’s machine as its unstable rhythms mirror that sense of disconnection.
An unsettling yet melodic appeal shows throughout the track, reminiscent of early Wire material and its tendency to weave angular guitar twangs with haunting melodic steadiness, a la “French Film Blurred.” The 5/4 time signature features well in conveying this interesting sense of motion, with shifting rhythmic figures lending to the fragmented, compelling momentum. The delivery enamors throughout in a chilly, quivering allure, all while maintaining a relatively subdued tonal profile.
A hypnotic art-rock sense shines in the interactions between the rhythm section and guitar work, especially. The rumbling bass, sturdy drums, and melodic re-emergence around the 50-second mark is exemplary of this entrancement, as are the brief flashes of twanging guitars that arise about 15 seconds later. Slithering, almost surf-like guitar work appears briefly thereafter, as the phrasing pushes forth with consistently melodic appeal, into an abrupt yet satiating finale. “IA” is another strong showing from Sehore, who previously caught our ears with the albums Ladencia and Husfikbur.
