Ajay Mathur – “Nothing Really Matters”

ajay mathur

Born in India and based out of Switzerland, Ajay Mathur crafts a soaring vein of rock that, on soulful track “Nothing Really Matters”, evolves from riveting alt-rock to metal-tinged ominous progressions at the conclusion. Spacey guitars and Indian tablas both play a prominent role alongside Mathur’s charismatic vocals. It’s one of several highlights off Mathur’s new album 9 to 3, which ranges stylistically from rockin’ tracks like this to the lush “Latin Lover”, which incorporates twangy alt-country and Latin folk aspects. Mathur has a very worldly sound that shines fully throughout the entire release. Check “Latin Lover” out below, as well as stream the whole album here.
