The confident “White and Crazy” is a new single from Raleigh, NC-based hip-hop act Dubs, who writes, produces and records his own original songs. Not very surprisingly considering his overall, somewhat tongue-in-cheek approach, he got involved in a music career after an encouraging conversation with Riff Raff and his management team. Like Riff, Dubs pursues a sorta fish-out-of-water persona in the lyrical content, content to prove anyone wrong who writes him off based on appearance or lack of current pedigree. The beat is straightforward, with a playful woodwind-accompanied solo section that plays well in guiding to the hook. While not very stylistically inventive, this is a worthwhile effort from Dubs.
