ISRA – “He Had Something On His Mind”

The moodily infectious “He Had Something On His Mind” is the second release from rising Danish band ISRA. The follow-up to debut single “Truthtellers”, this new one touts a “darker and more evocative vibe,” taking cues from the trip-hop sounds of acts like Massive Attack. Twangy guitars and suave vocals lead the way with a nocturnal flicker, paving way to a burst of uplifting emotion at 02:21, when several bursts of elongated guitar tones coincide with an effervescent vocal eruption before fading back into moody suaveness. This is a really excellent effort.

ISRA plans to drop its debut album sometime this fall, with the first two singles presumably included.
