Freddy Hale is a Swedish-American artist who crafts an infectious blend of hip-hop, soul, and R&B, exemplified on new single “Troublemaker”, where trickling guitars, range-packed vocals, and a tightly constructed hook make for a pleasant effort. The primary hook finds Hale spelling out the track’s title, over an effervescent synth pad and the aforementioned guitar trickles. While not exactly structurally or stylistically innovative, it does what a track of this stylistic hybrid intends to do: encourage listeners to click “replay” on the basis of a good hook and polished production. Based out of Los Angeles, Freddy Hale is an artist with extreme pop chart-climbing potential.
