Daemon & Airdrie, the duo of Marley Daemon and Jesse Thom, have emerged from Victoria, BC with a haunting and riveting sound, which on new track “China Shop” showcase smoky vocals and a chilly organ/handclap combo. The duo alternate vocal leads initially, eventually converging for a beautiful duet, which in its final form is accompanied by a buzzing synth-bass. This release marks the debut of the project, who have appeared at festivals like Fusion Festival, Artswells, Atmosphere, Bella Coola, Kispiox, Arts on the Fly, Campbell Bay, Folk West, and Sunshine Valley Music Fest. This suave, atmospheric effort – with hints of dream-pop, R&B, and electronica – shows an eclectic act with ample potential.
