REIGHNBEAU – “Hide”

/

“Hide” is a stunning, meticulously layered track from REIGHNBEAU, the project of Albuquerque-based visual and sound artist Bryce Hample. The track, off his upcoming EP of the same name, works around the otherworldly vocals of Madeline Johnston, a longtime collaborator. Ghostly phrases intermingle with wordless vocal sample pitch alterations, adorning the background with chilling melodic shifts alongside the sifting electronic textures. “The title track started with my voice (me recording while improvising in my practice space) and developed fully when Madeline and I started rehearsing live for a tour,” Hample elaborates. “The other songs all grew out of sounds from this song.” As such, it’s a captivating starting point for digging into REIGHNBEAU, a project that’s sure to impress with the forthcoming EP.
