Prospect Lux – “Cocoons”

/

We’re gladly premiering the catchy new track, “Cocoons”, from Prospect Lux, the project of Brooklyn native Michael Spivack. The project has distinguished its own sound over the past decade, with calming synths, tight rhythms, and scenic electronic production. “Cocoon” is a fine example of this, with a building bass kick and serene synth pad building alongside melodic vocals and a growing arpeggio. Spivack’s voice resembles a cross between Twin Shadow’s post-punk melancholy and Andy Bell’s synth-pop emotion, the vocals complemented well with a slight electronic effect as the spacious chorus becomes apparent. It’s a stellar track from Prospect Lux’s upcoming EP, out on Thursday.
