Noisywaters – “Tropolis”

/

Noisywaters are a duo based out of Bellingham, Washington, comprised of harpist Will Barrett and Benza Maman on vocals and keys. They merge infectious trap beats with dream-pop, with the harp element adding to the idiosyncratic mixture even more. The hook, with its exotic lead melody and suave vocals, casts a tropical and effervescent feel that’s fit for a summer weekend — so, on this Friday, enjoy this gem from this rising duo. Their self-description of the track’s sound “Aquarian funk” is apt, for sure, as Hot Chip is a particular point of comparison during the “at least I’m lost with you” hook.
